It is worth noting that the skills development has attracted young girls and women who have either dropped out of school for various reasons or those who never went to school at all. Teenage pregnancies, and early marriages is one of the major contributors to school drop outs and it is a common phenomenon in Uganda and in Northern Uganda where the SI Lira club is located. This explains why more than 90% of the trainees who heeded to our call for skills development are mainly made up of young ladies who have dropped out of school due to various reasons.

Members of SI Lira reached out to an elderly lady, Maliam. The left is a photo of the members and Maliam 3rd left. Malliam is a widow looked after by the church. SI Lira supported Maliam with some basic requirements; soap, sugar, salt and clothing which were her immediate basic needs.
